Siding Replacement in Lakeland, FL

Rotting, cracked or faded siding? DBR Construction replaces siding on the whole house, from tear-off and sheathing repair to new house wrap, trim and fiber cement or vinyl siding.

Why Replace All of Your Siding at Once?

Siding is your home's first defense against rain, and in Florida it takes a beating from wind-driven storms, humidity and termites. Swapping out a few boards can hide the real problem, which is often water that has already gotten behind the siding. Replacing the whole house lets us strip the walls, inspect and repair the sheathing and framing, install a new weather-resistive barrier and properly flash every window and door, so the new siding goes onto a dry, sound wall and everything matches.

Fiber cement siding is a popular choice in Central Florida because it resists rot, termites and fire and holds paint well. Vinyl is a lower-cost option that never needs painting. We help you compare materials, colors and profiles, check your HOA requirements and install the siding to the manufacturer's specifications and Florida's wind requirements.

Common Siding Questions

Signs include soft or swollen boards, cracks, gaps at seams, bubbling or peeling paint, mold or mildew that keeps coming back, and water stains on interior walls. If the problems show up on several sides of the house, a full replacement is usually the better value.

Fiber cement costs more but resists rot, termites, impact and fire and can be painted any color. Vinyl costs less and never needs paint, but it can crack or fade over time. We will walk you through both for your home and budget.

A typical home often takes one to a few weeks, depending on the size of the house, how much sheathing needs repair and the weather.

In most of Polk County, yes. Exterior wall coverings have to meet Florida Building Code wind requirements, and we pull the permit and schedule the inspections.

Matching new boards to weathered siding is difficult, which is one reason we focus on full replacements. A whole-house job gives you a uniform look and lets us fix the wall underneath.

What Is Behind the Siding Matters Most

The siding you see is only one layer. Behind it is the sheathing, the house wrap and the flashing that keep water out of the walls. We open the walls up, fix anything soft or rotted, and rebuild every layer before the new siding goes on, because new siding on top of a wet wall only hides the problem for a few more years.
